Brett JAmes
OWNER/CEO
Over the past decade, Brett James has had more than 400 of his songs recorded by some of the biggest artists in the world, from Kenny Chesney, Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw and Rascal Flatts to Bon Jovi, Backstreet Boys, Kelly Clarkson, and Leona Lewis. His songs have appeared on albums with combined sales of over 100 million copies. He has had 26 #1's, a Grammy in 2006 for "Jesus, Take the Wheel", was named ASCAP's Songwriter of the Year in 2006 and 2010 and appeared on Billboard magazines' year end top ten country songwriters list 7 of those 10 years. Brett’s most recent hits are Carrie Underwood’s “Something In The Water”, her duet with Miranda Lambert, “Something Bad”, Brantley Gilbert’s “Bottoms Up” and Dierks Bentley’s “I Hold On”. In the pop world, he also had the Kelly Clarkson single, “Mr. Know It All” which went 6 weeks #1. As a producer his credits include Taylor Swift, Jessica Simpson, Josh Gracin and Kip Moore.
NATE LOWERY
GENERAL MANAGER/VP CREATIVE
Nate Lowery grew up in Florence, Alabama watching the songwriting business firsthand. His father, songwriter Donny Lowery, scored big with songs like “Old Flames” (Alabama) and “Why Does It Have To Be Wrong or Right” (Restless Heart). After moving to Nashville, he began his career at Windswept Publishing, in the time honored tradition of working in the Tape Copy Room. From there, he was hired by Chris Oglesby to help build his new company, Oglesby Writer Management, which was part of 19 Entertainment, producers of American Idol. His next move was to the newly formed Cornman Music, owned by hit songwriter Brett James. Nate is the GM/VP of Creative for Cornman Music and has been working with Brett for the last 11 years. Nate currently lives in Nashville, TN with his wife Farrah, their puppy, Towee and son, Leo.
Chris owen
CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Chris was born and raised in Buffalo, NY. He grew up on country music in the early-to-mid 2000’s, with ‘90s country also making a heavy influence on his musical playlist. He graduated from Buffalo State University in 2018 and spent six years working in country radio in his hometown of Buffalo, most recently as an assistant program director.
He moved to Nashville in March of 2024 to join Cornman Music as Creative Director. Chris currently lives in Berry Hill, TN with his wife Ariel and their dog, Odessa.
